The 2026 World Cup Tournament Format
The 2026 FIFA World Cup expands to 48 teams across 12 groups, with the top 32 advancing to a knockout bracket across five rounds: Round of 32, Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Final. It's the largest World Cup ever, hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Two Stages, One Leaderboard
Your pool covers both stages of the tournament. In the group stage, everyone predicts the final standings order for all 12 groups. In the knockout stage, everyone fills out the 32-team bracket. Points from both stages combine into a single leaderboard.
Group Stage Scoring
Earn points for each team you place in the correct position within their group. The pool commissioner sets custom point values per position — for example, correctly predicting the group winner could be worth more than 4th place. A perfect group bonus rewards getting all four positions right.
